Repeat winner of the Adirondack Life People’s Choice for number one attraction in the Adirondacks, the 81-acre Wild Center is an all-day indoor and outdoor experience.
From live river otters to Wild Walk and its elevated trail over the treetops, The Wild Center earns praise from around the world for how it lets visitors of all ages get closer to the natural world.
The Wild Center’s indoor space is swimming with live exhibits including river otters, multi-media shows and tons of hands-on experiences. There are trails, guided canoe trips on the river that runs by the Center’s campus, and a staff ready to show you around, and answer questions about the wild world of the Adirondacks.
Wild Walk is the star of the Center’s outdoor experience. Its more than 1,000 feet of bridges and platforms rise up into and eventually over the top of a living Adirondack forest. It includes a four-story tree house, swinging bridges, a spider’s web where people can hang out, and a giant-sized bald eagle’s nest where visitors can look over the Adirondacks from a rare point of view.
The Center’s staff offer a daily menu of programs with live Adirondack animals. The Center has a café and a large museum store.
