A worthy destination in the Brandywine Valley, Hamanassett is a 7 acre estate away from the hustle and bustle but just a short drive to attractions and restaurants. Just 30 minutes from Philadelphia and Wilmington, De., and 1 hour from Lancaster, Pa. (Amish country). Media and Chadds Ford are each just 4 miles from us making us the perfect location for your visit to southeastern Pennsylvania. Hamanassett is also close to all the world class attractions in our area including Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Brandywine River Museum (home to 3 generations of Wyeths), Nemours, Hagley and many more. Our bed and breakfast is known for its extraordinary breakfasts where you will be served in the formal dining room or on the terrace when weather permits. The main house has 5 bedrooms and 2 suites either king or queen beds, all with private ensuite bathrooms. Every bedroom is stocked with English toiletries, plush robes, large flat screen televisions with DVD players, clock radios with IPod docking, iron and ironing board, and coffee makers with all supplies. There is a 24 hour guest pantry on the second floor where you will find an ice machine, refrigerator stocked with juices and soft drinks, coffees and teas, and complimentary snacks. Free cable TV and WIFI available.

On the first floor enjoy the large book lined living room with baby grand piano, billiard room, and solarium. There is a large library (over 100 titles) of DVD movies for your enjoyment. Picture yourself after a day of sight seeing enjoying a beverage on the front porch overlooking the water fountain and koi pond or sitting on the terrace which looks out over the south lawn. For your outside enjoyment there is also a pavillion, and outdoor chess set and a hammock.

There are also two 2 bedroom 2 bath cottages for those who want more privacy or are traveling with small children. Both cottages have a living room, dining room, washer and dryer, and large fully equipped and stocked kitchen. These cottages can be booked either self catered for a week or more or as full bed and breakfast. Both cottages and one room room in the main house are dog friendly.
