Home to a collection of nearly 400,000 rare books, manuscripts, and fine and decorative art objects, including some of the best-known literary and historical objects in the world, the Rosenbach serves everyone from school children and families to scholars and casual visitors from around the corner and around the globe. Admission to the Rosenbach includes a guided tour through the historic house museum and a rare book library, as well as access to special exhibitions: visitors are welcome to explore exhibitions on view at their own pace, while guided tours of the historic Rosenbach home and library are offered on the hour.
In addition to daily tours, the Rosenbach also offers weekly Hands-On Tours, which provide special access to some of the library's literary treasures, such as Bram Stoker's notes for writing Dracula or Lewis Carroll's letters and photographs. Other public programs include invited speakers, literary soirees, and reading groups. Scholars of literature and history may make appointments to research objects from our collection at no cost.
The Rosenbach is located on beautiful Delancey Place.
The historic house belonged to the Rosenbach brothers, who bought and sold rare books and fine art.
Historic house tours are offered every hour on the hour.
Both house tours and Hands-On Tours invite visitors into the rare book library.
