In the heart of Barranco, the hippest area in Lima, is located Hotel B, a beautiful Belle Epoque mansion with only 17 rooms, member of Relais & Châteaux collection.

The building, originally built as a summer seaside retreat, breathes new life today. The original two-storey house was constructed in 1914 with traditional local materials complemented by Italian marble and imported wood. It includes an ornate façade, high ceilings, teatinas (local design skylights), open balconies and terraces; A mansion that reflects the glamor of the early twentieth century.

The abandoned historic monument has been rebuilt to reflect a Grand Hotel designed by renowned Peruvian contemporaries including architect David Mutal, interior designer Jordi Puig, marchand d’art Lucia de la Puente, art collector Susana de la Puente and restauranteur Oscar Velarde. Inspired by the neighborhood's bohemian atmosphere, the hotel features a private collection of contemporary artists from Latin America and Peru, adding a unique charm to the interior.

The restaurant and bar recalls the old bohemian cafes of Lima. Oscar Velarde, owner of La Gloria, Lima´s acclaimed restaurant, and advisor to the cuisine at Cicciolina in Cusco, has designed the menu to highlight the intense flavors of traditional Peruvian ingredients and Mediterranean techniques utilizing the freshest of his orchard, the catch of the day and a big array of local purveyors. The bar offers a wide variety of wines from South America, Peruvians piscos, and original gin tonics.

Looking ahead, the coming months will see exciting additions as Hotel B expands onto the second floor of the Lucia de la Puente gallery with four new bedrooms. Guests will enjoy private, direct access to this acclaimed art space.
