An award-winning boutique bed and breakfast in Saltash, Cornwall with nine luxury en-suite bedrooms. Pentillie’s accommodation is found in breath taking surroundings on the banks of the River Tamar. First floor bedrooms take full advantage of the stunning views of the estate and grounds. The castle is run by the Coryton family, their small team of friendly staff, and the two Labradors who insist on taking most guests for long walks around the grounds.
Located in the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Pentillie is a stone’s throw from the famous St Mellion Signature Nicklaus golf course. The north and south coasts of Cornwall are within easy reach, as are many of the great gardens of Cornwall, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, not to mention Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.

Pentillie Castle offers a truly romantic setting for your wedding ceremony or reception. The spectacular Cornish location, extensive mature gardens and lawns and dreamy views across the River Tamar provide inspirational, memorable photo opportunities.
Privacy is no problem – Pentillie Castle and its accommodation will be exclusively yours for the duration of your wedding. We can arrange as much or as little of your wedding as you like – it’s your day, so be as creative as you like. We’re here to make sure it goes off without a hitch.

Pentillie Castle’s wedding packages are designed to take the stress out of the build up to your big day, whilst being completely modelled to your vision. Pentillie specialises in tailoring your wedding experience, so if there is something you dearly wish to include in your wedding day, please discuss it with us and we will do our best to make it happen. We can help to arrange other activities during your stay, including clay pigeon shooting, falconry, golf, a treasure hunt or a boat trip. Pheasant Shooting
The shoot at Pentillie is world renowned for presenting high, fast and challenging birds. Managed by Tony Kennedy and keeper Dave Lovatt, the exhilarating pheasant shoot takes advantage of some of the deep valleys that run into the River Tamar.
Since the house was refurbished in 2009, guns now have a unique opportunity to stay in the Castle too. The nine en-suite double bedrooms provide the perfect number of rooms for a group of close friends or colleagues to get together in the luxurious and private surroundings of the Castle. A delicious 5-course dinner is served in the dining room where guns can get to know each other, or indeed start the ‘banter’ that accompanies many shoot days!
On shoot mornings, guns enjoy a hearty breakfast in the Castle before heading off for the first of a series of high and challenging drives in the stunning countryside. Lunch is either served at one of the estate farmhouses, or back at the Castle. Shoot parties all enjoy afternoon tea before heading home, or indeed upstairs to a rewarding soak in one of the deep baths, before a chance to compare ‘shots’ over dinner.

Afternoon Tea at Pentillie
Our afternoon teas have been such a success that they are now available to book any time of the year just as long as we have the availability in the castle. We have even started serving afternoon teas at weddings and christenings!
Our afternoon teas consist of a selection of sandwiches, savoury scones – usually topped with smoked salmon and watercress, sweet scones with lashings of Cornish clotted cream, home-made cakes and a traybake (often our favourite granola flapjack!).
If you have a favourite sandwich filling or cake then we will do our best to have them available. We can also cater for dietary requirements with advance notice.
Afternoon teas can be booked for any of our garden open days, or any date when we have the availability in the castle. For a special treat why not choose a class of Sparkling Vintage Cornish Cider from the Fowey Valley, or a glass of Prosecco, to go with your tea.
