Reen Manor Riding Stables was established in 1991 by proprietor Mrs C J Opie.
There are a large number of horses ranging from cobs to ponies to suit all abilities.
The 2 hour beach goes over 300 acres of dunes to the beach which you will have some cantering on. Once reaching the beach riders are separated into different abilities and those that are able may canter. Galloping is sometimes allowed but dependent on group experience, sand formation etc. We sometimes come back over the dunes or through the village.
Novices stick to walking only once on the beach and perhaps some trotting to and from.
We are restricted in July and August to 8am and 5.30pm as we are not allowed on the beach between 10am and 6pm but the rest of the year can go according to tide times. This ride costs £55.00 per person.
NB We do not take children on the beach ride under 14 years of age if novice and under 12 years old experienced unless very capable.
The pub ride goes at 11.30am until 2.30pm via country lanes and bridleways. It takes approximately 1 hour to reach the `olde worlde` thatched pub The Smugglers Den Inn where you may spend an hour to have drinks and/or lunch whilst your horses graze in the field behind the pub. This ride costs £50.00 per person.
The 1 hour ride goes out at around the lanes and bridleways at 10am, 11.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm and 4pm. Newcomers and novices may do some walking and trotting on this ride. Experienced may have a few canters. This ride costs £25.00 per person.
The half hour ride goes out at 11am and 2pm around the lanes and bridleways and is a walk only with trekking assistants leading on foot if necessary. This ride costs£15.00
We also do a 1 1/2 hour dunes ride subject to availibility. This ride costs £40.00
All the above are suitable for all abilities.
