The Old School House is a pretty Victorian schoolhouse built in 1838, in lovely mature gardens on the edge of the unspoilt village of Cardinham on the edge of Bodmin Moor, with its wild moorland ponies, cattle and sheep. The peaceful village has the 15th century church at its heart, but just a mile in the other direction takes you to Cardinham Forest with walks and cycle ways. Cardinham is just half an hour from the coast. We have been running a B & B here for over 20 yrs and pride ourselves on putting our guests first, with friendly and personal service, in our comfortable home and have a wealth of local knowledge to pass on to guests so they may make the best of their stay in Cornwall. Bed and breakfast is from £30 per person per night for two people sharing the double room.

We have a double and a single room. Both have en-suite bathrooms: the double with a bath and the single a shower. The double is in the main house with pretty views across the gardens. It is centrally heated and comfortably furnished with a comfy double bed and good quality linen, bedside tables and lamps, table with refreshment tray including selection of teas, filter coffee, and complimentary Furniss biscuits. We supply fresh milk. There is a cupboard with hanging space, shelves and luggage rack and hairdryer. The room has Freesat TV, radio and Wif .

We also have a small single en-suite room, The Bothy, in a little building separate to the house (about 5 yards). This is ideal for the single traveller or the third member of a party. There is a comfy single bed with high quality linen, cupboard with hanging space and shelves, bedside table, radio and stool and refreshment tray. The room is heated with electric panel heater and heated towel rail in the bathroom which has a shower. There is no TV in this room. Outside there is a small terraced area with table and seating where guests are welcome to relax or use the Orangery.

Guests are very welcome to use the gardens and Orangery to relax during their stay. We have a wide selection of maps, guides and magazines that guests are welcome to use. Free Wifi is available and off-road parking. Our delicious English breakfast is served in the Orangery, using local ingredients as far as possible. Guests who prefer not to have a full English breakfast can also be catered for. We make our own bread and preserves.
