This fantastic house - comfortable for 1 or 2 people, with plenty of space for up to 8 - is off-grid. Enjoy the tranquillity that comes with freedom from electrosmog, and find out how amazingly civilised it can be to live without the big energy companies.
The price ranges from about £200 for a short break (up to three nights) in winter to about £1800 for a week in high summer; for full information, click on the Booking Enquiry link.
The coach house is very private, and has wonderful views over the curving coastline. It is set in 70 acres of pastures and woodland, permaculture-based for over 30 years, so you will share this beautiful part of the Cornish coast with anything from deer to slow-worms to rare butterflies. Plus there's half a mile of our own beach - though it's quite a challenge to get there and back!
Lighting, fridge/freezer and mobile charger (there's no wifi) work from solar pv. Hot water comes from the sun and a woodburner, which also heats the building. To cook, it's the woodburner range, plus a gas hob. There's a good range of cooking pots and (handpowered!) tools, and enough glass, china and eating irons for eight people.
Sleeping: in the main house there are two bedrooms: a kingsize bed in a room downstairs, plus upstairs a family room: 2 double mattresses on a platform under the eaves. There's a shower room/wc with a super solar/woodburner-heated shower, plus a separate wc. Bedding, towels, shampoo and body gel are provided.
If you want a third bedroom, there's an optional extra studio flat with a double bed, wc and kitchenette.
Dogs are welcome, and we ask £20 per stay to cover the extra cleaning.
There's no tv, but instead board games, cards, books, musical instruments and ideas for idiotic parlour games.
A marquee is also available for a wedding or other event.
