West House Farm Cottages, a collection of three luxury cottages on a working farm, we are situated on the edge of the English Lake District just outside the Gem Town of Cockermouth.
The Old Byre & Little Meadow were redundant farm buildings converted into two luxury 5* holiday cottages in 2011
On the edge of the Lake District and only 5 minutes drive from the Solway Coast AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). We are not in honey pot area for tourists and therefore decided we needed to work that harder to provide something more than people expected. The cottages are tastefully converted and finished to the highest standard. Both have been rewarded with Gold Awards from Visit England.
The cottages are on our dairy farm but are situated separate from the working farm. Visitors like the idea of staying on the farm. The cottages are converted from former byres and stables in the old courtyard. They have open views of the Lakeland fells from their patios to the front and face the newly restored 16 century bank barn to the rear
Each cottage has fully equipped oak kitchens, two bedrooms to sleep 4 and stunning bathrooms. They both have their own private hot tub.
We offer short breaks for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and honeymoons and can supply champagne, flowers, balons etc on request.
The Summer seams the ideal time to take a holiday but the best time to use the hot tubs is a crisp frosty Autumn evening or a dark night in Winter or Spring when the stars are bright.
Bendale is a cosy one bedroom cottages, ideal for couples wishing to explore the Lakes & the Coast or just chill and relax.
