Selborne Pottery

Selborne Pottery was established by Robert Goldsmith in 1985 in the beautiful and historic Hampshire village of Selborne, Hampshire, which was home to the pioneering English naturalist Gilbert White. Selborne is just a few miles from Chawton, where Jane Austen lived with her sister Cassandra and their mother.

Each piece of domestic stoneware is hand thrown, turned and decorated. No machines or moulds are used and the traditional techniques have taken many years to perfect. Pots are decorated with rich copper red and cobalt blue glazes, whilst being decorative are still functional. Some pots have the addition of a luxurious gold or platinum lustre.

Pots include mugs, jugs, bowls, vases, teapots, lamps etc and commissions upon request.

Whilst visiting the pottery which is situated in a beautiful courtyard off The Plestor, you can see pots being hand thrown and decorated and look around our two galleries where purchases can be made.
