"This Herefordshire B&B and country pub is unfussily comfortable, and good value for money" (Tony Naylor, The Guardian, 2014).
The Temple Bar Inn is nestled in the heart of the Herefordshire village of Ewyas Harold, a stone's throw from the Welsh Borders and the beautiful Black Mountains; an area of natural beauty, steeped in history. It is on the ramblers' Herefordshire Trail, and is an ideal base from which to explore the Golden Valley, Hereford, Abergavenny and Hay-onWye.
A freehouse, The Temple Bar Inn is owned by the Jinman family, and managed by Philly Jinman and her partner Dave Hope. First licensed in the 1850s, and recently refurbished, there is no better place to stay for a night or two, or even just pause for a coffee, real ale, bar meal or seasonal dinner. Food is served every day, but not in the evening on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.
The Inn has 3 ensuite B&B rooms for guests who wish to stay overnight or for a few days. The rooms are situated on the first floor above the bar. They are all doubles, one of which has space for an extra single bed if required. Each room has a colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. The Inn has its own car park.
The kitchen staff are keen to showcase food and drink from the local area, and the bar and weekly changing restaurant menus reflect their passion for good food that is freshly prepared from seasonal ingredients that are locally produced wherever possible. The menus also benefit from the inclusion of fresh produce grown by family, staff and pub locals, or even foraged locally. Bread is made in house, also pasta, granola, jams, preserves, chutneys, and flavoured butters.
With 4 AA silver stars for its accommodation the Inn has also won Visit Herefordshire's Best Guest Accommodation Award for Excellence 2016.
