The River Café on the Tyne is owned by Paul Scott and Michelle Dickie and is one of only two restaurants in the North of the region – and one of only five in the North East – to have made its mark on the foodie scene and earned itself a prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand Award for the fifth year in succession.
he Bib Gourmand category is awarded to those restaurants who have been recognised as offering good quality, great value food for a maximum of three courses for under £28.
Front-of-House Paul and his partner Michelle have a wealth of experience in North East restaurants including Terry Laybourne’s award- winning 21 Queen Street and Terry’s Cafe 21 at Darras Hall. Under Paul’s management, the restaurant was awarded two AA rosettes and then within 12 months of opening had been voted Café of the Year by the Observer Magazine.
