Manton Lodge Self Catering in Rutland is situated midway between the historic market towns of Oakham and Uppingham, in the heart of rural Rutland, England’s smallest county and one of its best kept secrets.
The historic 18th century stone farmhouse lies on the edge of Manton village, overlooking the lovely Chater Valley. It is surrounded by sweeping views and sits in more than 100 acres of privately owned rolling grassland.
We offer two comfortable and high quality self-catering apartments in the southern wing of the house, which was completely rebuilt in 1989. Overlooking the Garden and Valley, both are furnished to a high standard and have separate access from the main house.

Guests are invited to enjoy the beautiful gardens, designed by the present owners who have lived at the house for more than 35 years. Ample parking is available for cars or boats; as well as for bicycles on request.

Manton Lodge makes an ideal base for exploring the county and its attractions. Rutland Water, Europe’s largest man-made expanse of water, and famous for its trout fishing, bird-watching, wildlife nature reserves as well as facilities for sailing and cycling, is within easy walking distance.
The Golf Club is just 5 minutes away with stunning views over Rutland Water. 9 and 18 hole courses, pay as you play basis.
Uppingham and Oakham, known for their public schools, are just three miles away, while the imposing stone town of Stamford is just 10 miles away.
