Experience Belfast

Experience Belfast is run by Arthur Magee co author of 'The Little Book of Belfast'. We provide the best overview of Belfast with "There's More to Belfast than Walls" - a critically acclaimed tour consistently rated 5 star.]. Delivered as either a walking tour, a Day Tour (walking tour, pub lunch and taxi tour), as a step on guide or as a show (The Walking Tour that doesn't Leave the Pub', it mixes politics, economics, the troubles', sociology, music and humour to give you an experience that will stay with you long after you've left the city. Tours are by arrangement and I will work to your schedule.

The Walking Tour takes you on a journey around the centre of Belfast. Lasting approximately 3 hours, in and around the city centre, we meet at the City Hall, before weaving in and out of entries, making our way to the Lagan seeing the Big Fish, Albert Clock, Cathedral Quarter, City Centre Murals and visiting a church that is at the centre of Belfast and Ireland's history. We look at politics, economics, history, the 'troubles' as well as the characters, revolutionaries, poets and musicians that have made Belfast such a unique place. This is more than a tour, it’s an introduction to the heartbeat of a city, that covers the past but it's also looks to the future too.

The Day Tour lasts 6 hours and comprises the Walking Tour, a Pub Lunch and a Taxi Tour. After the Walking Tour we visit one of the best pubs in Belfast. Your seats are reserved and you will enjoy  a fantastic two course meal and a complimentary drink and of course lashings of Belfast charm. After your lunch, your driver will pick you up from the pub and bring you on your own ‘black taxi’ tour. This focuses largely on the recent past and looks at the divides still evident in the city; in the many walls and murals. It lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours although there’s no set time limit. There’s plenty of time for photographs and your driver is on hand to explain and help answer your questions and queries. At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped off either at your hotel or back in Belfast City Centre.  We use our experience to ensure you get the best.

As a step on guide, we'll cover all the major touristy spots, Belfast Castle, Stormont, Titanic and the 'peace' Walls. This is no ordinary tour though. With insight and a guitar, music and songs are sung to deliver an unforgettable experience. The show based on the walking tour is only available to groups by prior arrangement.
