The D'Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum features a unique collection which is of international significance, having been built up by the celebrated Professor D’Arcy Wentworth Thompson, and used by him in teaching and in researching his seminal book “On Growth and Form”. The Zoology Museum named in his honour features animals, birds, fish and reptiles from around the world, as well as ancient fossils, rare arctic specimens acquired by Dundee whalers and a selection of fascinating models and teaching charts dating back to the 1880s. The museum is normally open on Friday afternoons during the summer months and on special open days throughout the year.
