Glenwhan Gardens. A 4 star Visit Scotland Attraction, has been described as one of the loveliest newly created Gardens in recent times, by plantswomen Tessa Knott.
This 12 acre delight has the most spectacular views over Luce Bay & The Mull of Galloway. Due to the warming influences of the Gulf Stream Glenwhan can grow tender plants from around the world with the PH 4.5 Rhododendrons and Azaleas and all the acid loving genera thrive .
A designated Tree trail for the Dendrologist has been collated, and there are seats and paths at all the stunning views. A 17 Moorland Walk with over 120 species of grasses and wildflowers maybe enjoyed, where comparisons can be made as to how the Garden once was, and how the garden is now. Wildlife and birds abound with Red Squirrels.
A Plant Nursery and Tearoom with 'Taste Our Best Award' where local produce is used wherever possible.
Open Daily 10-5pm Easter, or April 1st -30th September. Thereafter with an Honesty Box at Entrance to Gardens. Beautiful Weddings take place in the Gardens with Marquee.
