As a small independent bar we have very few restrictions on what we can do. This, for our staff, is perfect. We can make new and exciting drinks every day, using all the best homemade ingredients to quench your thirst, whilst creating the perfect atmosphere for the occasion.

Located on North Castle Street, just off of George Street in Edinburgh’s city centre, Tonic is the hidden gem that is the essential ingredient in any good night out. With our experienced bar team and top notch DJs we promise it will be one to remember!

Whether it’s your first time here or your home away from home we hope to put a smile on your face as you sing, dance, drink and laugh, surrounded by the best company in town. Finally, once you’ve had your fill, we hope you leave fully content and ever so slightly inebriated.

Here at Tonic no two nights are the same. Weekdays are relaxed affairs with great drinks and a lovely atmosphere but as the night goes on the bar is always ready for a party. Monday – Thursday don’t be surprised if you find yourself up and dancing to our bartenders party tunes, plus at the weekend we have our resident DJs on hand from 9pm to add that extra something…

On Fridays we welcome our acoustic acts, followed by weekend resident DJ Mark Benaicha, playing all your favourite Disco/Funk/R&B. Mark returns on Saturdays, bringing you a bit of everything to keep the party going!
