Our comfort food is inspired by the fine local Craft Beer micro industry that is now buzzing in Scotland. Like these Craft Beer producers, we carefully select combinations of local ingredients, to create small batch dishes with bags of flavour and fond memories. We are a proud member of the exclusive Scotch Beef Club and all our meats and vegetables are sourced from local farms where we have validated their quality, practices and values.
The Makars is situated at the top of The Mound which leads you from Edinburgh’s Old Town into the New Town. It’s right in the heart of the city and just a short walk from Waverley main train station and most of the central hotels. We are blessed with incredible views overlooking Princes Street and further north to the Firth of Forth and Fife. At sunset amazing colours of reds and oranges light up the surrounding buildings, to create an unique setting.
