Imagine a landscape of majestic purple mountains that rise up to in all their glory to the sky, a land of cool clear blue lochs, a land that hasn’t changed for a million years and you can start to imagine the beautiful, wild, untamed, Scottish Highlands. Perched on a bluff overlooking Loch Assynt sits Ruddyglow Park. A small, 5 star GOLD, bed and breakfast just outside Lochinver, on the north-west coast of Sutherland. A home where you can relax and unwind while listening to the gentle sound of the water and the birds singing in the garden during the day, watch our resident Pine Marten and Badger family come for dinner in the evening and listen to the owls hooting at night. Assynt is one of the last untamed wilderness of Europe, famed for its archaeological wonders, spectacular bird and wildlife, some of the best fishing in the world, miles of white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters and above all outstanding natural beauty. For those looking for an active holiday then this is the place for hikers and walkers or diving (it’s cold!) or maybe you fancy finding out more about canoeing or sea fishing whatever it is, you can do it here. For those not so nice Scottish days then we are art galleries and local craft shops all waiting to found.

Our home is set in five acres with ample park space at the front of the house. Our garden full of native and specimen trees, shrubs, bushes and anything I can find that will grow in our climate!. Guests are welcome to wander around the garden, to stroll down to the edge of the loch or through the woods to breath in the fresh air and tranquillity of the area. For our many sporting guests and are happy to provide a drying room, rod room, secure gun cabinet and chest freezer if needed. We do appreciate that in this day of technology most guests are used to superfast broadband with unlimited download capacity unfortunately we are in an area that can only be serviced by satellite and as such it is both capped and slow by comparison. We are happy to provide free Wi-Fi for email and internet browsing but gaming, real-time applications, large data downloads including iDevice syncing are not possible at the moment.
