Whether it’s the changing floral displays in the Flower Dome, the exotic plants on the 35-m tall mountain in the Cloud Forest, or the awe-inspiring Supertrees, Gardens by the Bay has something that will appeal to everyone. In fact, 19 million people from all over the world have visited the Gardens since it opened in 2012.

The award-winning Gardens by the Bay a first-of-its-kind tropical garden that pushes the boundaries of how plant life can be presented in an urban environment for public enjoyment. The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, which are cooled conservatories, fuse nature, architecture and technology in a sustainable way to enable a whole new world of plants to be grown in Singapore’s tropical climate, while the Supertrees take skyrise greenery to new heights.

There is also a strong sustainability message behind Gardens by the Bay. Several of the Supertrees have photovoltaic cells on their canopies to harvest solar energy for lighting at night, while horticultural waste from the Gardens and around Singapore is used as a fuel source to cool the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. Rainfall and water run-off from the Gardens are captured in the lakes and naturally cleansed by aquatic plants before being discharged into Marina Reservoir.
