Just 10 minutes from Merimbula and nestled in the beautiful Bega Valley you’ll find Potoroo Palace; a charming, intimate sanctuary for native wildlife.
Wander amongst the free roaming kangaroos and emus, get up close to the magnificent pythons, stroll through the cooling mist of a walk-through aviary, go for a fun ride on the Potoroo Palace Train and have lunch and great coffee at the Blue Wren Café, or bring your own picnic and enjoy the free BBQ facilities.
A not-for-profit organisation passionate about caring for the earth, Potoroo Palace is dedicated to improving the habitats and well-being of the native animals in their care, promoting public awareness of their plight in the wild, and educating the community about the importance of the conservation of our unique Australian native animals and plants.
Many of the animals at the sanctuary are native to the Merimbula area. Residents include potoroos, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, dingoes, echidnas, quolls, wombats, snakes and more!.
