The Kuranda Riverboat has been operating on the Barron River in Kuranda since 1982 and is an iconic attraction in the rainforest village.

We conduct five relaxing 45 minute calm water cruises on the river seven days a week. Your experienced skipper will share his knowledge of this beautiful area and you will hear about Kuranda's rainforest flora, fauna and history. During the cruise you may see freshwater crocodiles, freshwater turtles, a number of species of freshwater fish, water dragons, snakes, tropical birds and butterflies.

We also offer our Paradise Kuranda Guided Rainforest Walk situated in a secluded area of lush and diverse rainforest on the other side of the river and accessible only via the Kuranda Riverboat. You may be lucky enough to see "Elvis" a cassowary that lives in this section of rainforest during your tour. Following the walk tea/coffee and cake are served in our covered outdoor rainforest tearoom.

The Kuranda Riverboat and the rainforest is also used for small weddings and special occasions. Sunset cruises and music cruises are also available at different times of the year with full details being found on our website.
