Yering Farm is small, family run winery in the heart of the Yarra Valley. The property consists of a single estate vineyard of 30 acres, from which we produce a limited production of 5000 cases of wine per year, and 70 acres of apple and pear trees, from which we produce our delicious Pink Lady Apple Syder . Alan Johns is the winemaker and owner of Yering Farm, a fifth generation orchardist and first generation wine maker who has lived on the property since the early 80s, when his parents bought the property to plant 200 acres of orchard. He planted his first vines in 1989, and with his history of working in the family orchard, this was a solid background for crafting complex, balanced, wines, which reflect top Yarra Valley style. The wines have been recognized with many medals and trophies, notably for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. From budburst to bottling, every stage of production is personally controlled by winemaker Alan Johns. Constant monitoring and expert analysis prior to bottling is paramount in the creation of each vintage. The vineyard team is committed to low impact viticultural practices and works with seasonal constraints to limit chemical input, on the non-irrigated land. Yering Farm wines are sold only from cellar door or on premise around Melbourne, ensuring that quality is the focus at Yering Farm.
