Extending 1.841 kilometres over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and is home to one of six Underwater Observatories in the world!

Not only can you jump on the JETTY TRAIN and travel 1.7 kilometres out to sea, descend 8 metres below the water's surface into an UNDERWATER OBSERVATORY or snorkel and dive the UNDERWATER SCULPTURE PARK, you can also learn about Australia's offshore marine parks at the new MARINE DISCOVERY CENTRE.

At the INTERPRETIVE CENTRE you'll find everything you will need for a day’s activities at the jetty. There are drinks, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, ice cream and snacks. Browse the unique and stylish giftware and homeware on display as well as a vast array of souvenirs and mementos. There is also a selection of giftware created by local artisans and home décor pieces crafted from recycled timber salvaged from the Jetty.

Sit back and relax while our train driver takes you on a 1.7 kilometre journey across the calm, clear waters of Geographe Bay. With trips leaving throughout the day, the Jetty Train is the perfect way to experience the Busselton Jetty. From glimpses of dolphins frolicking to spotting local fishermen snaring their catch of the day, the Jetty Train trip promises to deliver something for everyone.

Located 1.7 kilometres from shore at the end of the Jetty, the UNDERWATER OBSERVATORY allows you to descend 8 metres beneath the waters’ surface, to the ocean floor. Visitors can view the amazing corals and fish life through eleven viewing windows, at various levels within a 9.5 metre diameter observation chamber. Described as Australia’s greatest artificial reef, the Busselton Jetty is home to more than 300 individual marine species. It is host to an awe inspiring “forest” of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates.

Our new onshore attraction, the MARINE DISCOVERY CENTRE, allows you to embark on a voyage through Australia's offshore marine parks, including the Geographe Marine Park, the South-west Corner and the Perth Canyon. You’ll be able to delve into the intricate ecosystems that thrive beneath the waves, from bustling open seas to mysterious underwater trenches. At the Marine Discovery Centre, every corner unveils a new revelation.

Imagine being face-to-face with a lifelike shark, listening to the haunting melodies heard by whales in the open ocean, drive an underwater submarine into the deepest depths or peer through microscopes to discover the hidden treasures of microscopic marine life. A 30-minute self guided immersive experience with interactive exhibits, the Marine Discovery Centre promises an unforgettable odyssey into the heart of our oceans.
