Planted in 2004, Greystone vineyard sits on the limestone and clay hills of the Omihi valley in Waipara. Greystone has a local and international reputation for producing high quality wines including Pinot gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, barrel fermented Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir and consistently wins awards and accolades, for the uncompromising approach to growing grapes and making wine. Awarded Organic Vineyard of 2016 in the Organic Wine Awards is a testament to viticulturist, Nick Gill and winemaker, Dom Maxwell's dedication.
Situated on the main road, it's an easy drive in to the cellar door for a wine tasting 7-days a week. The Hurunui bike and walking trail meanders past the cellar door and encourages you to take your time with a wander through the vineyards before or after a tasting. Take in the exceptional views across the Waipara Valley and if you've brought a picnic, there are plenty of places to stop along the way.
During summer, the outside seating area is great for enjoying a glass of wine and rustic platter, showcasing local food artisans' bread, meat, cheese, condiments and sweet treats.
