Approximately 63 km north of Christchurch and a one hour drive from Christchurch airport Karetu Downs Farm stay is ideally situated as a stopover enroute to Hanmer, Kaikoura, Picton, the West coast or enroute to Queenstown.

The 100 year old Homestead B&B is the ideal romantic hideaway for the weary traveller. Offering cosy private accommodation for tourists, travellers and families who want to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings of the country side while staying on a real New Zealand Sheep and beef farm.
4WD tours are available. The drive to the top of the farm along tussock tracks provide panoramic views of the Southern Alps, the east coast and to the South the views of Christchurch and surrounding areas are breath taking.
Mountain bike the back country tracks. Bottle feed the pet lambs (seasonal), Meet Barney our resident Donkey plus Wilby and Ginger the Kune kune pigs, Hand feed our pet sheep. Help feed the chickens and collect the eggs, Watch a sheep shearing demonstration or if you are lucky you may get to experience the shearing gang in full swing around May/June/July or Join Bruce on a guided 4 wheel drive tour of the farm.

Campervans are most welcome.
