There are few places in New Zealand where true natural experience can be had in close proximity to major tourist routes. Here in Anakiwa, on the popular Queen Charlotte Drive, we have one of the best experiences in NZ.
From our large purpose built base on the Queen Charlotte Drive, with plenty of safe parking, we are only minutes from the best Sea Kayaking, Mountain Biking and Hiking the Sounds has to offer. 1500km of coastline, a Great Ride and the Link Pathway all are accessible from our base for your epic adventure here in the Marlborough Sounds. Whether it’s a self-guided freedom adventure for a half-day, full day or multi-day trip you are looking for, or if you’d prefer to have local knowledge and expertise provided by one of our professional guides, either way we have it covered.
We also have a satellite base for the peak season (Dec – Feb), along the Kenepuru Sound in Portage Bay.

If you have limited time in the area but are keen to experience the brilliance that the Marlborough Sounds has to offer, then our Half-day and Full day sea kayak trips are for you. Let our professional and qualified guides not only tell you, but show you, what makes the Sounds such a special place.
These trips are based in the Queen Charlotte Sound where you can expect to see a variety of sea and forest birdlife and possible sightings of rays, seals, little blue penguins, dolphins and if you are super lucky – Orca!
If you would rather explore on your own time then we have quality kayaks for a freedom rental whether it's a half-day or 7 days. You can explore the more popular Queen Charlotte Sound or if you prefer a quieter and more remote trip then the Pelorus Sound is for you.

If riding is more of your thing, then the Marlborough Sounds certainly provides the opportunity for that “good ride”.
Just a short 10 minute ride from our base we have access to the Queen Charlotte Track, one of the 23 Great Rides from the Nga Haerenga, New Zealand Cycle Trail, which offers awesome half day rides up to 3 days of trail riding.
Renting a bike from us couldn’t be easier, just decide your route and you are off! The short briefing will cover all the basics of trail riding, the relevant road rules of NZ and of course, fitting your helmet.

With our fantastic location in the Marlborough Sounds, we have access to some amazing one-day and multi-day walks on the Queen Charlotte Track and Nydia Track.
Gorgeous coastal views, the stunning Marlborough Sounds, and native bush – the QCT is utterly unique. Combining the best of NZ walking and biking with a seamless network of cruise and pack transfers, resorts and lodges, and great food and wine, whether you’re here for one day or five, the Queen Charlotte Track is brilliant every day.
Native forests, historic bays, saddles with superb views and sheltered shorelines – the Nydia Track offers a glimpse of how some of the first European settlers worked and lived in this remote area, all those years ago.

What better way to see a new area than to combine 2 or 3 different activities together. Whether it’s kayaking and biking or kayaking and walking or maybe all three, you will love the different angles at which you can take in the Marlborough Sounds. You could be playing with seals in the morning and then following a very friendly fantail along the track in the afternoon.
We deal with all the logistics, so all you need to do is get yourself to each change over point. We offer a 1-day, 2-day and 3-day option for you to explore the Marlborough Sounds depending on how much time you have to explore.
