Air Wakatipu is proud to have an unblemished safety record since its inception in 1984. Chief Pilot Peter Daniell has twelve years of experience operating out of Queenstown Airport around Fiordland and Milford Sound, and has been running Air Wakatipu since 2012. In that time we have had great growth, expanding our fleet and business, but we have retained our small-business sense of personalized customer service.
We pride ourselves on having the best customer service of all the flight operators out of Queenstown. Our goal is to provide a seamless and easy experience which will be the highlight of your New Zealand holiday.
All of our aircraft are high-wing, with guaranteed large-window seats for each passenger. Our pilots are teeming with local knowledge and eager to share their love for this beautiful country.
Milford Sound Fly-Cruise-Fly
Take a stunning scenic flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, including a 1.5 hour cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand's premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the sound is experienced from all viewpoints.
We will fly you from Queenstown over the southern alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks.
After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the sound. The boat has a Pita Pit restaurant onboard, with freshly grilled wraps or pies, and complimentary tea and coffee. After the cruise your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.
