As you enter the cave you will find yourself inside the dark hall with only the entrance light shining the way forward. As the boat turns the corner you will be struck with the beautiful glowing blue light emanating from the sea and reflecting all around the cave which will now be presented to you in its full beauty. The cave is made out of two halls separated by the stone bar visible just below the water line. The best time to visit the cave is just around the time we arrive (from 09:30 to noon). At that time the cave is lightened by the most beautiful blue color which is reflected of the white floor of the cave, while the objects below the sea surface appear to be silver in color.

Because there are no more islands to the south of the island of Vis, except for Italy in the distance, the strong southern wind created waves which served as an artist who has carved the south side shores of the Vis island for centuries. The masterpiece is still in progress and it is truly a work of art which is definitely worth to visit. These are great spots to take some photos and marvel the beautiful power of nature.

There are two entrances into the Green Cave which allows even for a bit larger boats to enter inside of it. As soon as you enter inside of it you will be struck bu the cave walls as they illuminate and reflect the sea glowing in green and silver color. The green color of the cave is primarily reflected from the green algae which have found their home on the ceiling of the cave. As we enter deeper inside the cave you will next notice the most interesting feature of the Green Cave. On top of the ceiling there is a round hole through which a beam of light enters the cave. The beam of light is narrow and focused so it is clearly visible outside and inside of the water.

The seabed of the Blue Lagoon is made from mixture of sand and crushed sea shells which, together with the glowing sun rays, give the sea unique and unforgettable turquoise color. Besides sand and crushed sea shells there are also spots, mainly circular in shape, of sea grass which provides a nice shelter for the small fish who found their home inside the Lagoon. You can see on the sea bottom occasional sea urchins which are the main sign that the sea inside the Lagoon is extremely clean.
