Head chef Manish Bahukhandi is one of the most striking representatives of the Indian “rustic cuisine” and had last cooked at the 5 Star Hotel “The Claridges” in New-Delhi.
He has been engaged in the Indian top restaurants in hotels like “The Oberoi” in New-Delhi and the “Taj Mount Road” in Chennai. He will bring his hand selected team of specialty chefs: one for Curry dishes and another one for Tandooris.
Fundamental for the Indian cuisine are the authentic Tandoor-oven made from clay, where bread, meat and vegetables are cooked. Following the traditionally Indian cuisine, INDIA CLUB will renounce on beef and pork but we therefor offer chicken, lamb, duck, fish and seafood. Poultry and lamb are from highest organic quality, and humane treatment of animals. They exclusively come from our agricultural Gut Vorder Bollhagen of the Jagdfeld family near the Baltic Sea.
The INDIA CLUB additionally serves an exceptionally large selection of vegetarian dishes with thousands of Indian spices – curcuma, ginger, black mustard seeds, cardamom, cumin, saffron, curry, clove, cinnamon and mint, only to mention a few. “A too little seasoned dish is not a good dish” – says an Indian saying. The famous Indian “Curry’s” are home made of course, as well as our Chutneys.
The INDIA CLUB Restaurant is managed by the China Club Berlin, who stands for the most exclusive and luxurious private club in Germany. It´s ambiance is as famous as its first class and exceptional cuisine. The INDIA CLUB is on the same high level, but is open for public.
The design of INDIA CLUB Restaurant is from Anna Maria Jagdfeld, who also designed the China Club Berlin. The interior is simultaneously elegant and colorful. Elegant are the heavy mahogany-furniture in the British colonial style and the dark wood paneling. Our lamp shades glow in colorful pink, yellow, turquoise, green and purple. The fabrics are classical Indian flower-prints. Just as colorful are the uniforms for our staff. Atop of the traditional white kurtas they will wear vests in all shades of a rainbow. Alone the interior is worth visiting us!
