Welcome To The Osteria del Prete!
The name could be translated as »Tavern of the Priest« which refers to the Southern Italy tradition that the farmers serve the local priests with their finest wines, their most delicious salsiccia, their best cheese and most precious olio d'oliva.
So our claim is to welcome our guests with the best beverage and dishes made of the finest ingredients, especially from Southern Italy. The location of Calabria effected a variety of influences in cooking: An immemorial culture of farmers, sheperds and fishermen meets Greek, Arabic and even oriental impact. We import our viands mainly from Southern Italy directly from the farmers, who produce traditional, sustainable and valuable. The result: lots of new taste adventures.
What's more the atmosphere next to the harbour of Hamburg is almost South Italian. Hearing the ships makes us feel a little bit like staying at the strait of Messina. So we have the best conditions for authentic cooking and for entertaining our guests with Southern Italian heartiness.
