At the most enchanting part of Athens, the well-known pedestrian precinct called Dionysius the Areopagite, a new stylish restaurant, the MODERN rooftop dining, is hosted on the top floor of the ATHENSWAS hotel which the Athenians as well as the city’s international visitors have adored.

With these principles in mind and their spontaneous creativity, gastronomic consultant Themis Papadopoulos and executive chef Michael Birtsios have created a menu that follows the path of the contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with the emphasis placed on the exceptional quality of the selected raw materials. It praises the Greek cuisine and accompanies it with international gastronomic influences while the refined and creative outcome activates the senses. Pastry chef Vasiliki Pilianidou, recently added to the MODERN team, creates extraordinary desserts that fundamentally contribute to an incomparable gastronomic experience. The unique signature cocktails served at the MODERN constitute a further reason for someone to visit the place and while drinking one, to enjoy the night view of the Acropolis hill, the lighted avenue and the imposing Arch of Hadrian.
