Declared Heritage of Cultural Interest ( I-VII C.), the Roman Villa has one of the most complete surfaces of the Iberian Peninsula, emphasizing the length of its walls and the greatness of its elements: mosaics, paintings, pavements,… as well as the great set of sculptures which can be admired in the Historical Museum.
You can clearly distinguish two parts in the Villa: the “Pars Urbana”, consisting on the luxurious residential area of the owners, following the Hellenistic model of houses (still observable nowadays in the proportions of the Andalusia buildings) and the “Pars Rustica”, the productive area, intended for the farming production (wine and oil press, oil decantation chambers, cisterns, etc..). A large necropolis related to the Villa appeared next to it.
