The Visitor Centre has become a popular attraction in the North County Clare area and welcomes visitors from all over the world. It is open all year round, please check their website to see the opening hours.

Inside and outside of the visitor centre, you will discover mosaics that are telling the story of the "Salmon of Knowledge".

Marvel at the nostalgic atmosphere inside the shop and smell the oak smoke as soon as you come through the door. Feel the rumble of the production facilities under your feet as you explore the retired kiln and smokebox that were used when the Burren Smokehouse was first set up.

The Burren Smokehouse is a family-run business that was set up in 1989 by Birgitta & Peter Curtin. They carefully source their Irish quality raw materials for the Burren Smoked Salmon, Trout, Mackerel.

Curious as to how they smoke their salmon? Discover the first kiln and the unique salmon mosaics. Taste the freshly Smoked Organic Salmon from Irish waters and enjoy other culinary delights.

Open every day except for 25 and 26 December and New Year's Day. Opening times depend on the season, in summer from 9am to 5pm.
