The MART galleries are housed in the old fire station in Rathmines, Dublin 6.

Since 2007, Dublin based curators Matthew Nevin & Ciara Scanlan have sought to create opportunities by conceiving creative platforms to support artists from all stages of their careers to test new ground. As a curatorial partnership they have curated over 100 artists through several international exhibitions across Ireland, UK, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Japan, Jackson Mississippi, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles.

In 2013, Nevin and Scanlan convinced Dublin City Council to give them the keys to the old fire station in the heart of Rathmines. With no budget, the pair spent 16 months bringing the building into a usable state after more than 20 years of it lying dormant and decaying. In 2014 The MART Gallery was launched housing two large galleries in the renovated old fire station and since the pair have expanded their studio network to host over 120 members in 70 studios in seven studio buildings across Dublin.
