With a mission to enrich the lives of people and foster environmental stewardship through horticulture, the Gardens on Spring Creek is the community botanic garden of Fort Collins, Colorado. The 18 acre site opened in May 2004, part of a vital public/private partnership between the city of Fort Collins and the Friends of the Gardens on Spring Creek. The Gardens currently includes a Plant Select® Demonstration Garden, a Children’s’ Garden, the Garden of Eatin’, a Rock Garden, Sustainable Backyard, and the Xeric Parkway Strip. The Gardens also supports school and community garden outreach programs, offers a school field trip program, youth spring and summer camps, and provides year-round educational programs for all ages. We play host to several special community events that honor and celebrate the joys of gardening, nature, and its important connections to people and building community in northern Colorado.
