The Downtown Sterling Historic District - featuring the Sterling Creatives art co-op, Parts & Labor Brewery, Old Town Bistro and Simkins Parlour - is adorned with 20 artistic murals. The historic district represents Sterling's rich pioneer heritage and id deemed so significant that it's now on the National Register of Historic Places. There are a total of 26 historical sites located in the central area of Sterling.
The Overland Trail Museum is a 14-building complex recording the greatest migration of people our country has ever experienced. Extensive exhibits include pioneer history, Native American artifacts and antique farm equipment.
