Do you want to learn how to make cheese? You can at The Art of Cheese! We are an artisan cheesemaking school that specializes in teaching those wishing to make their own cheese at home. We are located within a commercial creamery, Haystack Mountain Cheese, but are a separate and independent business. Most of our classes take place in our classroom at the creamery, are two hours in length and include hands-on participation in making several types of cheese. Some classes are taught at our founder's nearby goat farm as Farm-to-Table classes. We also offer multi-day courses that are particularly suited for people coming from out of town who want to learn as much about cheesemaking as they can while in town. All classes require advanced registration.

In addition to our classes, we sell cheesemaking supplies and equipment as well as an array of Haystack cheeses before and after our classes. We do not keep retail hours. Many of our classes include a tour of the Haystack creamery and a free take-away of one of Haystack's award-winning cheeses. We do not offer tours separate from classes.
