Come have a taste of a "Dutch coffee time" at Maria's Tea Room in the historic Scholte House in Pella, Iowa. Named for Maria Scholte, the wife of Pella's founder, H.P. Scholte, our tea room offers Dutch pastries, windmill bread (with the flour being ground at the local Vermeer Mill), Dutch chocolates, and tea, coffee, and iced tea.
Seatings are 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and reservations are required.
Come experience the "gezellig" of a Dutch coffee time. Das ist lekker!

The Vermeer Windmill and Historical Village can be toured Monday through Saturday most of the year. There's a great view from the top of the windmill!


Scholte Church, a replica of founder H.P. Scholte's original church in Pella, can be found in the Historical Village.


Wyatt Earp, pictured with his mother Virginia, lived in Pella from 1850 (age 1) until 1864.

The Beason-Blommers Grist Mill is one of the 22 buildings in the Historical Village.

Scholte House, located on the north side of the square, was built in 1847 and is the home of Pella's founder.
