Pella Historical Society and Museums

You'll feel as if you've traveled to the Old World when you come to Pella....no passport required! Settled by Dutch pioneers in the 1840s, Pella is a slice of the Netherlands.

The 125-ft Vermeer Windmill is North America's tallest working grain windmill and can be toured daily, Monday through Saturday. The Historical Village features 22 buildings that span the history of Pella, including the boyhood home of Wyatt Earp, who lived in Pella from 1850 to 1864. And the Scholte House, located on the north side of the Pella square, is the home of Pella's founder, Hendrik Peter Scholte and his wife, Maria.

Check the website for opening times and prices. And come visit during Tulip Time, the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in May each year, when hundreds of thousands of tulips are expected to be at their peak!
