Jane’s Saddlebag(JSB) is a premier heritage tourist destination located near Big Bone Lick park along the Ohio River in northern Kentucky. The business encompasses several amenities for the customer to enjoy and engage in. It is a restaurant, a wine shop, a general store, a kids playland, a petting zoo, a historical site and a place for a family to come and relax. Jane’s Saddlebag’s main goal is to provide a family a place to eat and explore, all while getting away from the fast-paced everyday lifestyle. Jane’s Saddlebag employees encourage customers to stay all day, enjoy the beauty of nature and to walk around the property and explore. The property is located on about 35 acres and offers endless places to have fun and explore.
JSB’s restaurant is located in its ‘main shop’ which is also where Jane’s Saddlebag received its name. The main shop is an old restored Saddlebag style home. A Saddlebag house is an old farm house style dating back to the 1800’s. This particular style features double front doors and is similar to a duplex with a fireplace right down the middle. The founders of JSB found the house in rough shape and restored it with the inheritance of Jane Blackmore, owner’s Grandmother to accommodate thousands of guests a year. They kept a much as they could, such as the floors, roof, trims and foundation, in its original condition.
It is the goal of Jane’s Saddlebag to serve fresh homemade food at an affordable price. The unique quality about JSB is that this is not a fast food restaurant. It is laid back and home-like dining experience. Jane’s guests can enjoy the river and peaceful atmosphere while eating a home cooked meal. Jane’s Saddlebag’s motto is:

Jane’s Saddlebag has many areas of importance in which they strive for. One of those is to remain not only a family owned and operated business but to also make sure that everyone whom comes to Jane’s Saddlebag is treated like family. Customer service is of utmost importance to everyone at this business. When the customer leaves the establishment, they should feel like they just left grandma’s house.
Along with a restaurant, petting zoo, wine shop, general store and kids play area, Jane’s now offers its very own bourbon called JSB Reserve. JSB Reserve is an 8year-old bourbon distilled in the good ole bourbon state of KY. This 8year-old bourbon is a double gold winner in a regional contest. JSB Reserve was one out of the five to receive double gold in a blind contest of 17 total bourbons from all over the United States. JSB released this bourbon last year with a unexpecting great response and to date is the largest growing product it has released since 2004. The response was so well, that owners have now completed a plan for a small on-site distillery.
