Lover's Leap Vineyards and Winery is a family owned, fully operational, 60 acre farm containing 33 acres of vineyards. Owned by the Sivinski family, the Vineyard sits atop a limestone base providing vital minerals and nutrients to the soil which are similar to those found in the Bordeaux region of France, where some of the world's finest wines are made. There are four red varietals and five whites, all of which give us the ability to create interesting combinations or "blends" that effectively express the terroir and climate of Central Kentucky as well as our winemaking style. A good portion of the vines were planted in 1994 and are in the prime of life therefore, producing fruit with robust and concentrated character. This premium quality fruit coming from the vineyard is a winemaker's dream, as there is a level of excellence already established at each harvest. The vineyard is painstakingly nurtured and maintained by hand all season long to ensure the vitality of the vines.
Our winemaking style is purely inspired by our beautiful vineyards. And our winemaking team is immersed in the vineyard during the growing season; staying in touch with the vines at each stage of their development from bud break through the growing season, fruit production and harvest. High quality fruit is vital to the creation of our great wines. Our winemakers prefer wines that are dry, balanced and that express the true essences of the fruit from our vineyard, but they have also created lovely sweet and semi sweet wines which are sure to please a wide range of palates.
Lovers Leap Vineyards and Winery is a "Working Vineyard." We grow the grapes, care for the vineyard, harvest the grapes, and produce the finished product: bottled wine. Once the grapes are harvested, our wine makers care for the juice during the fermentation, aging, and finishing processes, before the wine can actually be bottled.
While here, you can experience the entire wine making process from vine to bottle while being guided on our tour with the winemaker or his assistants. Enjoy a glass of wine as your tour guide explains and educates you about our wines and the winemaking process. Our hospitality is only matched by the stunning views of our vineyard from our 180 degree deck that wraps around our tasting room and overlooks the vineyard.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
