Located in the center of quiet, serene and historic Blue Hill village, this 1835 Federal-style inn on the National Register of Historic Places is about 30 miles from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and 35 miles from Belfast. 3 hours from Portland, ME and 5 hours from Boston, MA. Walk to amazing restaurants, galleries, gift shops and more. Blue Hill is home to Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School, the Maine Environmental Research Institute, Bagaduce Lending Library and so much more. Our guests ejnoy exploring Deer Isle and Stonington, Brooklin, Sedgwick and Castine.
Antiques-filled rooms and suites feature original wide board pumpkin pine or maple floors, period furnishings and Oriental rugs. Some offer fireplaces, 4-poster beds and/or claw-foot tubs. All rooms have their own private bath. A pair of suites in a guest house adjacent to the inn adds cable TV, pull-out sofas and either a kitchenette or full kitchen and are available year round.
In season, full three-course breakfasts prioritizing local ingredients are included. Afternoon homemade treats are provided in the sitting room, and evening socials with wine and hors d'oeuvres are offered in the living room or in the garden.
