Swans Island Company has crafted fine textiles on the Maine coast for 25 years. From our signature handwoven blankets and throws to knitting yarns and apparel, we are determined to create objects of beauty and utility in authentic and earth-friendly ways here in Maine. We hand-dye each skein of custom spun yarn that comes into our dyehouse, operate our own weaving studio with a skilled team of artisans at the helm, and proudly collaborate with small, family-run American spinneries and mills.
Since our company’s founding in 1992, we have produced fine heirloom-quality goods the way they should be made: with natural fibers, classic design, and time-honored technique. In 1996, we were awarded the Smithsonian Blue Ribbon for Craft, and we are proud to continue to play a small part in the revival of traditional textile manufacturing here in Maine.
