Turquoise Tours

Turquoise Tours offers 4 unique tours to truly experience this funky little town of Taos, New Mexico.

1. Taos Highlights Small Group Driving Tour, 3 Hours, $46. Visit all the major sites of Taos in an afternoon. Within three hours, you'll experience the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Taos Pueblo; an authentic and living Native American village with a tribal member as your guide. Next is the stunning Rio Grande, one of the country's largest rivers and viewed from the Gorge Bridge. After a quick drive through the Earthship Biotecture Community to see how an entire community can live off grid using trash for building materials, we'll end the tour at the Historic Taos Plaza which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is the quickest and most thorough way to get a handle on this diverse and incredibly unique place. (Taos Pueblo is a live and traditional village which closes to the public with short notice for ceremonies and traditional practices. In the event that the Pueblo is closed, we visit Martinez Hacienda which is a National Historic Spanish Hacienda and living museum. Therefore, admission to Taos Pueblo ($16) and Martinez Hacienda ($8) are not included in the tour fee.)

2. Taste of Taos Food Tour, 2 Hours, $62. If exploring through food is your thing, then the Taste of Taos Food Tour is for you! New Mexico is known for our red and green chili, in fact, we even have a state question about our chili, like a state bird or tree. Visit 4 different eating establishments all within a very short walking distance tasting your way through Taos. Learn the difference between Mexican and NEW Mexican food, hear why there is so much pork in New Mexican food, and learn why New Mexican's are obsessed with chili. Over the course of two hours, you will certainly be full by the end of this lunch tour. Tour includes all food samples. Drinks and guide gratuity not included.

3. Downtown Walking Tour, 50 Minutes, $18. For the typical downtown historic walking tour, we've got you covered. Although far from standard, this riveting and historical glimpse into Taos will keep you on the edge of your...shoes as we weave in and through multihundred year old alleys, our brothel district, and hear about beheadings and suspicious murders of lore. All outside, this tour is pet friendly and weather permitting. Walking less than .5 miles.

4. Winery Tour, 3.5 Hours, $79. Didn't know New Mexico is the oldest grape growing region in the country!? We may not have the fame of Sonoma or Napa, but we've got the history unparalleled to any other winery region in North America. Visit three local wineries and their vineyards with tours and tastes learning about the influence of Spain's grapes from 400 years ago, taste some common varietals in grapes and ones you'll meet for the first time! This tour includes door to door transportation, 6 samples at each winery, and a complimentary wine glass. The tour duration is 3.5 hours and covers the stunning scenic countryside unique to New Mexico.
