This National Historic Landmark, located in the hamlet of Springs, on eastern Long Island, is the former home and studio of Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) and Lee Krasner (1908-1984), two of the foremost Abstract Expressionist painters. Visit the house where they lived from 1945 until their deaths, and the studios where they painted their masterpieces. In the barn studio, the floor is covered with remnants of Pollock's most famous poured paintings, and the walls bear traces of Krasner's colorful abstractions. Open May - October for guided and self-guided tours, exhibitions, lectures, films and family workshops. The ground floor of the house is accessible to the disabled. The Study Center research collections, devoted to modern American art, include an art reference library, oral history collection, photographs and documentary archives. The Study Center is open to scholars, students and other researchers by appointment. Please call or email the museum for further information.
