The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is 77 acres of fun from start to finish. Visit the Summer of 2017 and create lasting family memories. Gear up for a safari adventures at Jungle Odyssey, the Zoo's new exhibit. Go nose to snout with a pygmy hippo. Peer through the trees to spot a rare ocelot, fossa, and capybara. Watch a giant anteater's long tongue scoop up food in one swoop. Get a birds eye view of the African Savanna on the Zoo's new zip line. After refueling at Jambo Grill, venture back in time to when dinosaurs ruled the earth. See life-size realistic dinosaurs in an immersive environment. A 40-foot, jaw dropping tyrannosaurus-rex roars and stomps with life-like intensity just feet away, showing why this giant earned the name that means tyrant lizard king. Nearby the more docile 30-foot stegosaurus grazes lazily on plants. Towering above is a 70-foot brachiosaurus swinging its thick tail. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. During our peak season, hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with admission gates closing at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults, $15 for seniors 60 and older, $14 for kids ages 2 to 13. Stroll through the Zoo enjoying amazing animals like the Amur tiger, red panda, fierce and deadly Komodo dragon, African lions, and African elephants. Walk through an underwater tunnel at Water's Edge as polar bears play and swim over your head. Watch the playful sea otters swim, roll, and dive. Of course Kids Kingdom is loads of fun. Check out a new playground near Animal Connections, watch a sea lion show and enjoy the goat petting zoo.
