Take polo lessons in the Argentine pampas on this full-day trip from Buenos Aires. Experienced players and newcomers alike take two classes from a professional player, enabling you to gallop across the field and swing a polo mallet like a pro. Enjoy touring the local scenery by bike or take a dip in the infinity pool between matches. Eat a traditional asado lunch with malbec and watch a live match if time allows. This small-group polo excursion, limited to eight people, includes round-trip transportation from Buenos Aires.

A private car will pick you up at your hotel in central Buenos Aires for the 60-minute drive to Puesto Viejo Estancia. Upon arrival in the pampas, or lowland plains, enjoy the peaceful scenery of this 544-acre (220-hectare) property sprinkled with lush conifers, eucalyptus and willow trees. Enter the ranch's clubhouse and snack on cake, coffee and tea.

Head to the polo fields for the first lesson of the day, which is tailored to your skill level. Receive a safety briefing and then climb on to a horse selected for you according to your riding ability. Rest assured that whether you've never ridden a horse or are a practiced polo player, your professional instructor will teach to your experience. Grab your polo mallet, called a taco, and start swinging.

Dismount and enjoy a 3-course asado meal including barbecued meats paired with malbec. After lunch, explore the estancia's grounds via bicycle or rest your horse-riding muscles with a plunge in the infinity pool. Schedule permitting, watch a live polo match that involves 30 horses thundering up and down the verdant field.

Saddle up for your second lesson, calling up the skills from that morning and adding some new ones. Compete in an exhibition polo match with a team and enjoy racing your steed down the field in pursuit of the ball.

Relax in the clubhouse with snacks and drinks after a full day of polo adventures. Climb in to your vehicle for the ride back to Buenos Aires.
