The Luton Hoo Estate Walled Garden is open to visitors every Wednesday from the beginning of May to the end of September 1030-1600. Entry is £5 which includes a historical guided tour.

The Luton Hoo Estate Walled Garden was designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown and established by John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute in the late 1760's. Successive owners of the Estate adapted the garden to match changing horticultural fashions, only for it to fall into decline from the 1980's.

Now the focus of a fascinating project, largely carried out by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, the garden is constantly evolving. It is being revived and its structures gradually repaired for the enjoyment of future generations.

New this year is a woodland walk through the Capability Brown designed Flower Garden Wood which leads to our new site for our café the Shooting Lodge.

Access is via the A1081 between Luton and Harpenden. Take Newmill End turning and turn left after 100 yds and enter through the black gates. There is no entrance via the Hotel.

Coaches welcome and talk and tours can be arranged for clubs and societies.
