The cycle tour explores the Chilterns, from central London, the closest area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) . The Chiltern Hills are formed by an outcrop of chalk, overlain by clay-with-flints, on the north-western side of the London basin, which stretch across southern England from the Goring Gap in Oxfordshire to near Hitchin in Hertfordshire.
The guided 25 miles cycle tour of the English countryside allows visitors to see interesting historical buildings dating from the Norman invasion and discover the strong links the English Royal family had with the area. You are accompanied on the tour by a knowledgeable guide who will provide you with information about the important historical significance of the Chilterns during the Norman invasion of 1066.
The tour includes a visit to a local Chilterns vineyard, where you'll enjoy afternoon tea and a cream scone. The Romans discovered the chalk hills of the Chilterns were a great place to grow vines and today the English wine industry is still a flourishing business.
The tour is a great way to visit the English countryside and learn more about England's historical past. The cost is £40 per person and you must be 14 years or over to ride an electric bike.
